Paine con't

The waterfall (with a rainbow!) in Torres del Paine.
A picture of the wind, it is holding both of these 6 foot guys up!
The backside of Cuerno.
My friend Kate (from Pennslyvania) and the waterfall.

Paine 2

Just a pretty picture of one of the mountains. There is a foz sitting in the foreground. He was crazy, let the humans come right up to him.
These funny animals are called guanacos.
This is Cuerno de Paine. Or Paine's Horn.
Another group photo!

Torres del Paine

Another group photo just outside of the park.
All of the white along the water is salt!
We arrived on a slightly foggy morning, but the towers are the two that are behind the mountain.

The next day we drove from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine national Park. It was an amazing park and a really fun day. It is a really big park filled with mountains and salt lakes. The lakes are really pretty because every one is a different brillant color.

Cueva Milodon 2

Looking out of the cave from the back.
A life size wooden milodon. The kids are front: Sofi (Vermont), Joann (Bermuda), and Tom (California). Back: Keegan (Vermont) and Jens (Denmark)

This cave was huge. And when it was discovered, they found the bones of a prehistoric animal called a Milodon. It basically reminded me of a really big sloth. But it made the cave famous and now the bones are in some museum in London.

Cueva Milodon

Group photo before we started the hike up to the lookout point.
Relaxing about half way up.
Entering the Cave.

We went to Cueva el Milodon on our first day in the south. That was Monday December 10. We went for a hike up the lookout point and then climbed down on the other side to go to the cave. It is huge!

Viaje 2

This is the first of about 700 group photos. We are waiting for our plane at the airport in Santiago.
And this is the view from the plane of a volcano. I believe this one is Volcán Osorno.

Sorry it had taken so long. I have been experiencing techinal difficulties and have been busy. Anyway, here is the contunation of the trip I took to the south in December.

After orientation we got on a plane for the four hour ride from Santiago to Punta Arenas. It was really scary at the end of the ride because the plane has to turn around over the ocean and the patagonian region is famous for its stong winds! (there will be pictures deomonstrating this)
